A Connection “Like No Other”: One Alumna’s Planned Gift Paves the Way for Future Students

For Abby Lechthaler ’90, including Northfield Mount Hermon in her estate planning was an obvious choice. “My wish is that NMH continues to practice its mission long after I am gone,” she shares.

A portion of Abby’s estate is designated to NMH to support future students so they may receive a benefit from the same education she did.

“My hope is that many people to follow will benefit from the same experience I did—and that I continue to experience—from being a part of a unique and incredible community,” Abby says. “NMH gave me an education beyond classrooms and books, and it continues today.”

Abby credits her education at NMH with shaping her perspective and understanding of the world around her, “rooted in the values we all share as a community”—a community that remains an important part of her life today. “My connection with NMHers is like no other,” Abby says, beaming. “To help provide that for the younger generations to come is an honor.”
